Hyperion v1.0.0 Release Notes

Dirac Live is now officially available on Hyperion, having completed certification. This release also brings an enhanced web interface with improved clarity and readability, smarter bass management, network improvements, and dozens of audio reliability improvements. The platform support behind cloud features (automatic updates and remote support) also ships in this update.

What's New
Dirac Live - Now Available
Dirac Live is now officially available on Hyperion, having completed certification. The filter loading pipeline, calibration workflow, and Dirac Live measurement integration are all finalized, and Hyperion can be used for Dirac Live room correction with supported speaker layouts.
Hyperion also supports Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART), Dirac's most advanced acoustic correction technology. ART uses patented Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) processing to coordinate every speaker and subwoofer in your system as a single, unified acoustic system - actively counteracting room resonances and reflections without the need for physical acoustic panels or diffusers. Support speakers and subwoofers work alongside the main speakers to control low-frequency decay and reflections holistically. The result is tighter, cleaner bass with reduced decay time, a larger bass sweet spot, reduced room resonance and reverberation, and improved seat-to-seat consistency.
Every Hyperion unit ships with a robust, high-quality calibration microphone in the box, so you have everything you need to perform a proper Dirac Live measurement right out of the gate.
Enhanced Web Interface
The web UI has been polished throughout for better clarity, readability, and ease of use - the layout and workflows you already know are intact:
- Dashboard cards are cleaner and easier to read, with a larger power toggle.
- A persistent status bar at the bottom of every page provides quick visibility into system state.
- Bass management has been laid out as a matrix and channel-rail with substantially larger text and badges.
- The EQ page now shows a per-output curve, stronger trace colors, and a clearer toolbar.
- The routing matrix, output assignment tabs, and main pages have been scaled up and refined for readability at a distance.
- Engineering controls and cloud service toggles are grouped into a cleaner settings flow.
HALE Bass Management
The previous MultiSub system has been replaced by HALE, a more capable bass management engine:
- Per-channel high-pass and low-pass crossovers with automatic collision detection.
- A new Sub Boost control adds dual-domain subwoofer gain on top of HALE compensation.
- The system now auto-enables the right bass management mode for each Dirac filter type.
- Speakers that aren't assigned to outputs are now excluded from bass management and routing automatically.
- A new warning surfaces in the UI whenever a subwoofer has a high-pass filter active.
Crossover Safety
When a crossover setting would cause an HPF/LPF collision on the same speaker, Atlas now:
- Detects the collision before applying the change.
- Surfaces a clear modal with "Fix All" and "Dismiss" actions.
- Sweeps and clears any existing collisions at boot.
- Reverts the UI change if the backend rejects it, with the reason shown inline.
Overhead Decode Warnings
When your speaker configuration cannot decode overhead content correctly (a height channel mismatch, missing assignment, etc.), a modal now explains the problem and offers a one-click fix that stays within the validation rules.
HIES Display Overrides
The Hyperion Intelligent EDID Synthesis system now supports a full override engine:
- Per-input force-fallback for displays that mishandle the auto-merged EDID.
- A revert button to return to the auto-generated EDID.
- A reactive "Disable HDR" group that updates as you toggle related options.
- An override notice banner above the Connected Display card so you always know when an input is overridden.
The underlying EDID engine was upgraded to write confirmation tracking and retry logic, and now handles a wider range of TV firmware behaviors. CTA-861-I spec compliance issues were resolved.
Network Improvements
Setting a static IP address now applies in a single step, eliminating an issue where the IP could occasionally land on a wrong or partial value. Several reliability fixes were also applied to network detection and recovery.
Crash Recovery
If Atlas encounters a problem and recovers, a crash recovery banner now appears in the web UI with:
- A clear, plain-language explanation of what happened.
- An inline install-error panel with a copy-to-clipboard support code to share with us.
- Dismissed events that persist so the banner does not re-surface for issues you have already acknowledged.
Platform Foundations
This release ships the platform foundations for cloud-based updates and for opt-in remote support that uses per-device cryptographic keys generated on the unit. It also ships the platform support that detects APR-16 units eligible for 16-channel Dante and reconfigures Dante automatically. None of these features is customer-activated, and no action is needed from you.

Audio & Filtering
- Fixed an issue where some height channels could lose audio after changing speaker configuration.
- Fixed subwoofer channel routing after changing speaker types.
- Fixed filter slot switching after restarting the unit.
- Fixed Dirac Live timing out after about 11 measurement sweeps.
- Fixed an audio dropout affecting Dante operation.
- Fixed an audio interruption that could occur when rapidly toggling Dirac filtering on and off.
- Fixed speaker configuration sometimes not being applied to HDMI inputs at startup.
- Fixed subwoofer gain being applied incorrectly when bass management settings changed.
- Fixed an LFE crossover issue that could appear when changing speaker layouts.
- Fixed VU meter levels not reflecting bass management compensation.
- Fixed master volume not working correctly on DPR-16.
- Fixed Dirac filter loading occasionally blocking the unit from finishing boot.
- Improved Dirac filter behavior across reboots and speaker layout changes.
- Fixed speaker names not syncing to Dirac Live when speaker types changed.
- Fixed the device name appearing stale in Dirac Live after a network change.
Volume & Mute
- Volume changes now reliably reflect in the mute state.
- Volume changes while muted now auto-unmute as expected.
- Eliminated clicks and pops during rapid volume changes.
- Fixed an issue where per-channel gain adjustments could affect the wrong channel.
- Input audio gain sliders are constrained to the documented -12 dB / +12 dB range.
Stability
- Fixed a class of audio glitches that could occur under load.
- Fixed the web UI occasionally reporting itself as disconnected when it was not.
- Fixed the unit hanging on shutdown if a firmware update was in progress.
- Boot-loop protection now persists correctly across restarts.
- Fixed an issue where the wrong MCU firmware version could be reported after a recovery.
- Fixed the progress bar during MCU recovery to advance smoothly.
- The firmware page now refreshes after the crash recovery banner appears.
HDMI / EDID / Display
- Fixed stale "boot failed" flags preventing fallback EDIDs from being used.
- Fixed an issue where the HIES override could falsely engage when no override was needed.
- Fixed multiple display data parsing issues that could affect HDMI compatibility.
- HDMI IC versions are now shown on the firmware page instead of system settings.
Network
- Fixed network changes not being detected when the link stayed up.
- Fixed a crash in the network status detector.
Web Interface
- Fixed the overhead decode modal occasionally appearing behind the navbar.
- Fixed multiple sizing and alignment issues across the EQ, bass management, network, and main pages.
- Fixed speaker height count detection so configurations like 4.x.4 are recognized correctly.
- Fixed the EQ output strip showing the same curve for all outputs.
- Fixed the bass management tab not updating in real time.
- Fixed a console page where its header rendered under the navbar.
- Fixed the support snapshot page layout.
- The speaker levels modal is now hidden when it does not apply to the active Dirac filter mode.
- Numerous accessibility and copy improvements throughout the HIES section and the crash recovery banner.
Control (HDMI / RS-232)
- Fixed multiple issues that could cause control commands to be dropped.
- Fixed RS-232 state-changing commands occasionally not being reflected in the unit's state.
- Telnet and RS-232 bridges now reconnect reliably after disconnection.
